The death has occurred of Joan Brophy resident of Droimnin Nursing Home, Stradbally & formerly of 25 Doonane Road & 13 Doonane Terrace. Predeceased by her parents Maura & Patrick, baby Marian, sisters Mary, Julia, baby Margaret, brother Seamus, brothers-in-law Georgie, Frank, John & Pat, sister-in-law Patty, niece baby Bernadette and nephews Shane, Shane (Jnr) & Jamie

Deeply regretted by husband Jimmy, son James, daughter Joan, and son-in-law Chris, brother Edward, sisters Frances, Bridie, Christina & Annette, brothers-in-law Liam, John, Seamus. sisters-in-law, Nano, Peggy, Teresa, Maura, Bernadette, Claire, Bridget & Catherine, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, nieces and nephews in-law, relatives, friends and neighbours.

The family would like to thank all of the Doctors, Nurses, Carers and Health Care Professionals who looked after Joan over the years.

Reposing at Droimnin Nursing Home, Stradbally on Tuesday (4th Nov.) from 6pm, concluding with Vigil Prayers and Rosary at 8pm. The Funeral Cortege will arrive at St. Abban’s Church, Doonane for Requiem Mass on Wednesday morning at 11am. Joan will be laid to rest thereafter in the adjoining graveyard.

The death has occurred of James (Jim) Hamilton of 33 Doonane Road, Crettyard, Co. Laois and formerly of Glasgow, Scotland, passed away peacefully surrounded by his friends, on the 26th of October 2025, at his home.

Pre-deceased by his dad James, Mam Isabella, brothers Tommy, Joe, Pat and Brian. He would be sadly missed by his loving brother Benny, sister Angela, sister-in-law Ann Marie, brother-in-law John, nieces, nephews, his beloved and treasured goddaughter Croía, relatives and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at his home 33 Doonane Road, Crettyard, Co. Laois (Eircode R93 C9P1) from 3pm on Thursday October 30th concluding with prayers at 8pm that evening. Removal from there on Friday morning at 10.30am to St. Abban’s Church, Doonane, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. Funeral afterwards to Carpenter Bros Cremation Chapel, Shamrock Sq, Carlow arriving for Cremation Service at 12.30pm

The death has occurred of Jimmy Murphy of Monavea, Crettyard, Carlow, Co. Laois, passed away peacefully at his residence on October 19th, 2025.

Beloved husband of Ann, much loved father of Pat, Tom, Mike, Jim, Mary, Frank, Jacko and adored grandfather to all his grandchildren. Predeceased by his brothers Paddy and Tommy, he will be sadly missed by his loving wife, sons and daughter, grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

Reposing at Carpenter Bros. Funeral Home, Shamrock Square, Carlow (Eircode R93 C863) from 3pm on Monday October 20th and 3pm on Tuesday October 21st concluding with prayers at 7pm each evening. Removal from his residence on Wednesday morning October 22nd at 11:30am to St. Mary’s Church, Mayo, arriving for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. House strictly private on Wednesday morning please. Burial immediately afterwards in the adjoining graveyard.
