Tony (Anthony) Lacey Main St., Ballylinan
March 5, 2025

The death has occurred of Tony (Anthony) Lacey, Main St., Ballylinan. Peacefully, in the wonderful care of The Holy Family Ward, St. Vincent’s Hospital, Athy, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Ann, dear father of Elizabeth, Eamon and Patrick. Tony will be dearly missed by his daughters-in-law Catherine and Elizabeth, brother Padraig, sister-in-law Rita, grandchildren Tomás, Seamus, Áine, Charles and Julie Ann, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family , neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at his residence (R14 PA02) from 2pm on Friday afternoon (March 7th) with Rosary at 8.30pm on Friday evening . Reposing from 2pm on Saturday. Removal on Saturday evening to arrive at St. Anne’s Church, Ballylinan for prayers at 7pm. Requiem Mass at 11.30am on Sunday morning (March 9th). Burial afterwards in Ballylinan Cemetery.

V. Rev. Thomas O'Shea, Ballylinan
February 21, 2025

The death has occurred of V. Rev. Thomas O’Shea, Ballylinan, Laois and late of Borris, Carlow.
Peacefully on the 21st February, 2025. Predeceased by his parents James and Bridget, his brother Paddy and his sister Mary. Dearly loved and sadly missed by his sister Kathy, his brothers Shem and Liam, nieces and nephews Derek, Barry, Rory, Patrick, Kevin, Anthony, Una, Marina, Alan, Fergal, Philip, Deirdre, Seamus, Paul, Niall, Edel, Ciarán and their families, the clergy of the diocese of Kildare and Leighlin, his parishioners and wide circle of friends.

Fr. Tommy will lie in repose in St. Anne’s Church, Ballylinan, Co. Laois on Saturday (22nd February) from 2 pm with funeral reception and mass at 7:30 pm. Requiem Mass will take place on Sunday (23rd February) at 2 pm. Burial afterwards in Ballylinan Cemetery.

Peter Brennan, Ballylinan
February 13, 2025

The death has occurred of Peter Brennan London, England and formerly of Ballylinan, Co. Laois. Peter is predeceased by his parents Jim and Lily, brothers Tom, Bernard and Paddy and sisters-in-law Geraldine, Rose and Alice. Deeply regretted by his loving siblings Jimmy, Michael, Mary and Betty, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives and friends.

Requiem Mass at 12 noon on Tuesday, February 18th in St Anne’s Church, Ballylinan. Burial afterwards in Ballylinan Cemetery.

Teresa Kealy, Ballylinan
February 6, 2025

The death has occurred of Teresa Kealy (née Cranny) late of Enfield, London and formerly Ballylinan and Athy, passed away suddenly (22nd Dec 2024) in the loving care of the staff of St. Theresa’s Care Home, Bush Hill Park, London. Predeceased by her husband Sean and deeply regretted by her daughters Maria (Mitchell), Margaret, Michele and her son John. Grandchildren John, David, Lucy, Victoria and Harriet. Great grandchildren Zachary, Matilda, Joshua, India, Hudson and Finley. nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours, relatives, extended family and friends.

Teresa will repose at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Chapel Hill, Mt. Hawkins, Athy (R14 NX80) on Wednesday, 5th February 2025, from 2.30pm until removal at 4.30pm to St. Ann’s Church, Ballylinan, Co.Laois for reception prayers at 5pm. Requiem Mass on Thursday, 6th February, at 11am, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
