Graveyard Mass in Killabban on Thursday 25th August at 7.30pm.
We remember all who are buried in this ancient site associated with St Abban, who founded a church in area in 650AD. The existing ruins that occupy this special site date to 13th century.
This year’s gathering will be a special occasion, as we have invited Bishop Denis to be the main celebrant of the mass—the first time he will celebrate a mass in this historic site. It would be lovely to see as many people gather together from the four corners of the parish (and further afield as well) to join in celebrating our Christian heritage in this ancient location.
May I take this opportunity also to thank the members of the Killabban Restoration Committee for all their hard work in preserving and securing this ancient site for generations to come, and for maintaining the grounds of the monastery. It is a credit to one and all!
